This is a great piece! I learned so much from reading about and listening to Steve Jobs. I was lucky enough to hear him speak to a small crowd many years ago-he was mesmerizing.
Since you asked...I'm not sure when it was, exactly-late 80s, early 90's. But I do know it was after he was "ousted" from Apple and he had already started NEXT, which Apple ended up buying when he returned. He was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Governor at the time, Dick Celeste, whose son worked for NEXT. He was part of a panel, but then he did a question and answer session with the audience. I can still see him walking back and forth across the stage as he answered questions. One audience member asked: : "what do you do to relax?", and his instant answer was "I go to Italy." And the audience let out a nervous laughter. Then he explained how much the art and beauty of Florence influenced him and how important it was to what he was doing. I must say that becasue I had been following him for some time already, I knew exactly what he meant, but it seemed that the audience of mostly local business leaders, I presume, didn't get it at all, thus the nervous laughter.
For the all the movies you mentioned the framework is universal 'hero's journey' framework developed by Joseph Campbell 😊
And Picasso said, good artists borrow and great artists steal 😉
So I agree with you here. Very meaningful piece 👌
Thanks for the clarification, I love the Picasso quote too! Thank you for reading)

Wow that is an opportunity of a lifetime! What did he talk about? When was it?
