Musings about perfection remind me of this quote from author J.D. Salinger:
“You should do your work as perfectly as you possibly can with no thought of rewards, and only that way can you be a really happy person.”
They way I interpret this is that it is rewarding to do good work, to do work as perfectly as you can. And when people do this, they create wonderful, beautiful things, like these great movies, which were all the result of someone putting their all into their work:

Well, I love Salinger, but I also would love to accept that things are perfect as they are because, well…they are.
